The rules of a VR escape room
Immersive, and mind-blowing, our VR escape rooms in London are not to be missed. No matter the occasion, whether it’s for a special event or a night out with your nearest or dearest in London, we can guarantee you’ll find some fun in our expertly designed VR games. They’re made to challenge the mind and intrigue the senses, after all.
So, what should you expect from an engaging escape game? Before you browse through our selection of VR escape rooms, there are a few rules to follow so that everyone involved can have a safe and enjoyable experience.
Stay within the boundaries
As the virtual reality lovers among you will already know, VR can be quite disorienting. With this in mind, certain boundaries are unsafe to cross when using a VR headset. This is to ensure that you don’t harm yourself, the equipment, or others during all your fun.
When using the equipment, always take notice of the boundary lines — they’re there for a reason! If you fancy a bit of reading before you book your escape room, take a look at our escape room safety tips.
Respect the equipment
For the best free roam VR experience, we’re proud to offer some of the best-in-class wireless VR headsets available. Add our high-end gaming PCs, custom-made VR haptic guns, and even haptic vests for our VR zombie shooting missions in London, and you’ve got an immersive experience like no other.
We’re glad to share our state-of-the-art equipment with you, however it’s also important to keep it in top condition. To avoid any breakages, please carefully follow the instructions given to you by our Game Masters at the start of the session, and only use the equipment for its intended purpose.
Do not use physical force
Our VR experiences are designed to be fun, exciting, and interactive. However, when we say interactive, we mean embracing teamwork! While it may be tempting to take a more hands-on approach during the VR experience, please remember that physical force is not necessary.
The nature of virtual reality, along with the surrounding environment and our top-of-the-range equipment means you won’t need to interact physically with any other player. As well as being part of the fun, this also keeps both you and our VR equipment safe for a positive and entertaining experience for all.
Keep an eye out for age and content warnings
Just like any video game you’d play on a console, our VR games in London also have minimum age requirements to keep all players safe and comfortable throughout the experience. Some of our games feature themes that may be unsuitable for younger visitors. Our VR zombie shooting games in London, in particular, can feel a bit scary for anyone who isn’t keen on horror. Rotten Apple and After the Fall, for example, come with some gory imagery and content warnings.
Age recommendations also reflect each escape game’s difficulty rating. Choosing a VR game suitable for everyone playing will result in a far more enjoyable and satisfying experience.
As a general rule of thumb, many of our VR shooting and virtual reality escape room games have a minimum age of 11, while our Hero Zone and VEX Play categories are suitable for children aged 8 and up. However, some will vary, so please check each listing for specific age recommendations. You can also click “Book now” to see minimum ages, player capacity, duration, and equipment information.
Listen to the health and safety briefing
Before you enter your VR experience, you’ll get a friendly welcome and a health and safety briefing from your designated Game Master. Before your session, your GM will provide a detailed safety briefing to familiarise you with our high-tech equipment and guidelines.
Don’t worry if you’re a little nervous — our trained Game Masters will be able to monitor you and your team, as well as the virtual environment, to keep you and your friends safe throughout your escapades.
Enjoy the experience
With all of these rules under your haptic vest, you’ll be sure to have a one-of-a-kind experience when you embark on a VR escape room adventure with Omescape. Most importantly, we want you to have fun and make memories with the group you bring along with you — but we also want to keep you safe.
Our escape room rules are here to guide, protect, and support you throughout your session with us. Once you’ve got them knuckled down, all that’s left to do is don your VR gear, assemble your team, and then it’s time to enter a whole new world.
