What to Expect in an Escape Room
Over the past few years, the escape rooms craze has been sweeping the nation, with more and more people putting their detective hats on and getting involved. If you’re thinking of trying it out yourself, we don’t blame you! But, before you do, take a look at what to expect and make sure you’re ready to make a grand escape.
Race Against the Clock
The first thing to know about escape rooms is that the clock is always ticking. As soon as you enter the room, the time will start counting down, and you have to solve the puzzles and free yourself from the room before it runs out. This adds a whole lot of thrill and a tad of adrenaline to the game. Just try not to crumble under the pressure!
Clues and Puzzles
To escape the situation you’re in, the themed room will be filled with a fair few clues you have to solve. From cracking number codes using some detective knowledge to solving riddles and finding key props, there’ll be plenty to keep you occupied! Get ready to use your brain and think like Sherlock to get out of this room in time.
Teamwork is Essential
To get out of our rooms, you’ll need to work with your team – trust us, it’ll make it a lot easier! As soon as you find a clue, share it with everyone to try and work it out together and make sure you all know what you’re doing. At Omescape, you can have up to 7 players depending on the room you choose, so bring the best brains with you for the best chance of escape.
Myths About Escape Rooms
There are plenty of myths about escape rooms that we’re ready to bust, showing you what not to expect. Take a look at just a few of them:
- It’s easy – This definitely isn’t true! We make sure to put in plenty of mind-boggling puzzles to keep our games interesting.
- No kids allowed – Whilst we do suggest only bringing kids over 12 to our rooms, they definitely aren’t adults-only. Our Kingdom of Cats room is designed to be family friendly, so if you want to bring some younger ones then be sure to check it out!
- It’s claustrophobic – Our rooms are pretty big and designed to stop them from being claustrophobic. But, if you’re still worried, we can always prop the door open to keep you more comfortable.
