5 Tips That Can Get You Through An Escape Game
Before there was Pokemon Go, folks would voluntarily get out of their homes and walk to the nearest Game center- to be locked in a room again. To get out, they had to solve puzzles. These were Escape Games where players would be locked inside a room with an intriguing yet mysterious plot that held clues to their escape.
Having hosted quite a number of Escape Games across the world, I believe it’s time to let you guys on a few little secrets that can make your experience more memorable and fun. This is how to get you through an escape game:
1- The clues are there for a reason
It might seem odd but there are some clues that stare right at your face all throughout the game. They may seem too simple and thus not worth the moment, but believe us when we say it is. If the clues are so obvious, it does have something important do with the progression of the game. Should you find any difficulty in deciphering it, enlist your partners to help find what they can unless you want to stay stuck in the rut you find yourself in.
2- Shove “Mr. Personality” out the door and listen to your team
There are some folks who are born leaders, with a more direct and head on approach, while there are others who are just plain loud and obnoxious. If you have a great idea, share it with your team and solve the clues in a coordinated effort. Never keep it to yourself. Share the ideas with your team and let them in to help with yours.
3- Schedule your time and organise your tasks
A good thumb rule would be to not spend more than 8 minutes on a particular clue or hint. Sometimes, teams often stumble at this critical juncture where they spend a whole lot of time on less important clues to only find themselves stumped at critical hints. Depending on the rules and the time allotted to you, the clock is ticking and the glory won’t wait forever. Play smart.
4- Communicate with your squadmates
This is a sector where we wish to doubly emphasis the point of collaboration. Stuff such as “Hey, look what i found! A handkerchief”, may sound odd and silly but yelling it out for your tensed teammates might solve a particular dilemma they are scrambling to solve. Its very common for clues to relate to other hints, so pay close attention. And communicate well with your team.
5- When stuck, ask for help
There will be clues you might be stuck on. So, it makes sense for you to switch and clear out other tasks while you are awake and fresh. Maybe your partner has a perspective which could illuminate the solution to that particular problem that has been plaguing you. Take the needed time off to focus on newer challenges and solving other clues needed to move the game’s progress. Regardless, it’s extremely important to move on and not waste time. The clock is ticking!
