Escape Room Taboos You Should Break
When it comes to escape rooms, there are plenty of taboos and myths – but is there any truth to them?
Escape Room Taboos
We thought it was about time we bust some of these ideas, showing you which taboos you can definitely break and giving you a better idea of what these games are like. So, buckle up and get ready – we’re about to break some taboos.
It’s Only for Adults
One of the biggest myths about escape rooms that a lot of people fall for is that they’re only for adults – this definitely isn’t true! Sure, some escape rooms might be 18+ if they’re super scary, but definitely not all of them. At Omescape, we recommend kids should be 12 years old before taking part in our games, but they’re definitely welcome. We even have a room that’s designed for families so you can all have a go at the challenges and join in on the fun.
It’s Not for the Workplace
If you think your workplace can’t enjoy escape rooms, you’re very much mistaken. Escape rooms are actually amazing for work environments, helping with team building and letting your staff have some fun together, which is essential for keeping morale up! The next time you have a team party or just want to treat your staff after a lot of hard work, book in at an escape room.
Getting Help Means You Loose
If you get help during your challenge, you definitely haven’t lost. A lot of people coming into Omescape think that getting help and clues is kind of cheating, so we have to reassure them that it’s all part of the fun! Most people get hints during the games and it’s a great way to stop any long searches for clues and keep the fun going – after all, that is what it’s all about.
You Can’t Leave Until it’s Over
If you want out, don’t believe myths about escape rooms that say you can’t leave; of course, you can! Whatever the reason, be it a medical issue or you have commitments elsewhere, we’ll let you out of the room as soon as you ask. If you’re claustrophobic or think you might get a little uneasy in a locked room, we can always leave the door propped open for you.
