Behind the Scenes of Creating an Escape Room
As you step into an escape room and cast your eye over the stunning scenery that, at Omescape London, includes a movie-like set and high-tech props, you could wonder with awe what it took to build an escape room like this. A lot of work certainly goes into creating an escape room, so let’s go behind the scenes.
What’s the Story? It’s the Story
At the core of every escape room game at Omescape is a riveting story – and, indeed, escape room creation can feel rather like making a film. After all, there’s not only a realistic, script-based story but also a uniquely designed playing environment in which we tell it.
However, we always want to keep our players guessing – just like you might often find yourself guessing when watching a great film. For this reason, we carefully weave a range of intriguing puzzles into each story before we finally open that escape room to the public.
Difficult, But Not too Different
Crucial to making escape room puzzles like those in the Kingdom of Cats is striking just the right balance in difficulty for the players. However, different facets of a puzzle can require different skills, which is why we urge you to come along with a varied party of participants. The lowest number of players we permit per game is three.
As a general rule, participants in the 12-16 age bracket tend to be good at finding clues, while adults are typically better at deciphering them. Also, don’t fear that you need the encyclopaedic knowledge of a winner on The Chase; our brainteasers are aimed at everyday people, not university professors.
The Future is Here, Thanks to Sophisticated Technology
As we put together a game, we also endeavour to cleverly implement technological features in order to enhance the overall experience and pleasantly surprise our players. These features include fully mechanical and automated features that could make you feel as though genuine magic is in the air.
High-end technology also makes the escape room feel fully interactive, as though you are immersed in an exciting new world. Indeed, our range of escape room options includes VR escape room games, giving you a new way to enjoy the up-and-coming technology of virtual reality.
Our Escape Room
The escape room here at our Aldgate venue is the Kingdom of Cats, a rollicking adventure set in a fantasy realm inhabited by giant felines ruled by King Jasper. Sentenced to death by a thousand scratches, your only hope of escape is to find clues, solve puzzles, and convince some of the friendlier animals to help you. Find out if you and your team have what it takes to escape the cats’ claws at Omescape London!
